A new scam

Have been deviod of scams for too long now - some bastard stole the deal old cycle and the youngest has passed his test so I'm now without my deal van.

OK so enter the new scam - another father son bonding thing - rebuilding a Land Rover.

Some while back I approached Bill Bailey across the road who owned a dormant Land Rover that was decaying in the street outside. The offer was made to purchase it should he not want it - if it failed its MOT.

Thus we are proud owners of a Land Rover 110 V8 SW P ...... and thats where the problems begin. Turns out to be a 3258cc V8 Petrol device (that has been converted to LPG - the only reason for my interest in this machine) but is a model produced during the transition to diesel - even Hanes don't do a single manual for this (had to purchase 2 - one for the body the second for the engine (and thats not quite the same one)) - erg.

I did purchase this without any close inspection for three reasons i) it had the conversion ii) i needed another scam and iii) £250 (or £200 before R Powell stuck his bloody nose into the negociations) - can't go wrong.

So now we have some real Mechano to play with (eh? Mechano-French LandRover Indian) - don't start me - I'm happy in past-world!

Well thanks to the tossers who, in trying to hot wire it, screwed up all the lighting circuits but well done Bwyts on a great tow back 8.30am Sunday intothe back lane.

The first purchase was a jet washer - brilliant - cleaned the LR, my transit, back garage door, walls, back alley and anything else that didn't move. Otherwise can get the thing to fire properly but due to its great turning circle managed to push it into the garage.

Monday am - weird history of this machine now confirmed. Hanes don't do a manual for this particular model. It's part Series III but with a V8 thats a predecessor of the larger units fitted to Range Rovers - so there is some technical fun to be had. (Good).
